THE GREEN FUND AFRICA: Kenya
Udgoon Sustainable Development Initiative
Strengthening community adaptation to climate change through water management, planning, and economic empowerment.
This project builds the capacity of the Ward Climate Change Planning Committee (WCCPC) and the Ward Water Stakeholders Forum (WWSF) in Garissa Township ward to collaborate with communities on climate vulnerability assessments and adaptation plans. Through workshops, technology-based monitoring (like school weather stations), and livelihood support, the initiative fosters community resilience, inclusive planning, and sustainable water resource management. It promotes financial literacy, vocational training, and entrepreneurship to boost economic resilience amid climate change.
