HBCU GREEN FUND FELLOWS
About the Fellowship
The HBCU Green Fund Fellows Program is more than just a fellowship—it’s a movement. We are building the next generation of climate leaders by equipping HBCU students with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to drive sustainability and clean energy innovation in their communities.
Our fellows don’t just learn about sustainability—they put it into action. From conducting energy audits on HBCU campuses and installing solar panels to leading climate justice advocacy and traveling internationally for hands-on sustainability projects, they are creating real impact where it matters most.
Whether they are learning about electric vehicle infrastructure, urban agriculture, or renewable energy technology, our fellows are gaining real-world experience that prepares them for careers in the growing clean economy.

Meet Our Fellows
Our fellows come from diverse backgrounds and majors, but they all share a passion for climate justice, sustainability, and innovation.
Our HBCU Green Fund Fellows are leading the charge in sustainability and climate justice. From traveling abroad for HBCU Eco Spring Break to gaining hands-on experience in climate action across Africa, they are making a global impact. On campus, they conduct energy audits, helping HBCUs reduce their carbon footprint, and lead environmental justice initiatives, speaking at national conferences and shaping policy discussions. Many go on to launch careers in clean energy, climate policy, and sustainability-focused businesses, turning their passion into real-world solutions.

ECO Spring Break
Field experience in climate action, sustainability leadership, and community empowerment for HBCU student changemakers.
As part of the HBCU Green Fund Fellowship experience, Fellows have the opportunity to participate in Eco Spring Break — an alternative spring break program focused on environmental service and leadership development. Fellows join peers from across the country to work on sustainability projects, engage with frontline communities, and build skills in climate resilience, project management, and advocacy.
Eco Spring Break offers a powerful, hands-on learning experience that deepens Fellows’ commitment to environmental justice and prepares them to lead transformative change on their campuses and beyond.
